Bill and Bev Fraser are the owners of Fraser Vineyard. Bill is a native Boisean with Idaho family roots going back to the 1860's. After returning from college and spending many years as a successful builder and wine enthusiast/collector, Bill had the opportunity of living his dream to grow his own grapes and to make the finest wines for the people of Idaho while also enhancing Idaho's reputation as a wine region. And yes, that unique label is the Fraser dress tartan harkening back to the Fraser Clan in Scotland. Upon completing UC Davis extension program and learning the latest in vineyard management and winemaking, Bill found an excellent location on the highest point in Canyon County with a south-facing slope overlooking the Snake River and with sandy volcanic soil perfect for water drainage and deep root structure which produces elegant and rich wines. Fraser Vineyard is Boise's first winery since the prohibition era and is located in the downtown area. The grapes are handpicked and sorted at the vineyard and then carefully transported back to the winery. The winemaking operations are handled at the Boise winery with the help of family and friends who also share their satisfaction in making award winning wines. "As a small family run winery, making the highest quality wines is our top priority. Please stop by and try some for yourself." Bill Fraser, Owner and Winemaker, Fraser Vineyard.
